How to Choose the Best Photo for a Big Head Cutout

A great big head cutout starts with a great photo. The good news is that you do not need a professional portrait. A clear phone photo can work extremely well if you keep a few things in mind.

Use the clearest photo you have

Because the face is going to be enlarged, image quality matters. Choose a photo that is sharp and in focus. If the original image is tiny, blurry, or heavily compressed, those problems become more noticeable when the face gets bigger.

Good lighting makes a big difference

Look for a photo where the face is evenly lit and easy to see. Natural light is usually excellent. Try to avoid photos with extremely dark shadows across the face or bright light washing out important details.

Make sure the whole head is visible
